Joining Power Apps Collections Using Filter Function

This method will take two separate collections and return one collection with a new column of joined content; utilizing the filter function returns a nested table with all of the content associated with a particular record.

StepAction
1Insert a button.
2Create two collections for each list using ClearCollect.
3Click the button to populate the collections.
4Underneath the ClearCollect formulas, add the following formula to join the two collections:

ClearCollect(
New Collection Name,
AddColumns(
Collection #1,
“Name of New Column”,
Filter(
Collection #2,
Collection #1 Key Column = Collection #2 Key Column)))

Example Formula:
ClearCollect(
teaminformation,
AddColumns(
colteamMembers,
“Tasks”,
Filter(
colteamTasks,
teamMemberID = mbrID)))

Complications may occur when the key columns share the same name.
5Click the button to populate the joined collection.
